Auckland LED Lights - Converting Auckland's streetlights to LED

Auckland is making a smart move. Forty four thousand traditional street lights are planned to be converted to energy efficient LED lights. Work has already begun in Mt Roskill and Mt Albert. Dr Lester Levy the Chairman of Auckland Transport says that nearly half of the region's street lights will be upgraded over the next five years. And upgrading most likely to continue from there. Dr Levy goes on to say "This project is expected to see net savings of $32 million over the 20 year design life of the LED luminaries."
